Dr. Mussa S. Muhoja (PhD) is a Lecturer at Ardhi University in Tanzania. He graduated his PhD in Anthropology from the University of Dar es Salaam in a collaborative project “Religious Reform, Faith Based Development and the Public Sphere in Sub-Saharan Africa (Lagos, Dar es Salaam, and Cape Town) conducted in collaboration between Freie Universität Berlin (Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology), University of Cape Town (Department of Religious Studies), and University of Dar es Salaam (Department of Sociology and Anthropology). His areas of academic interest include the study of religion, development, health care and legal anthropology. His doctoral research was on health care services (both formal and informal) among the Neo-Pentecostal Churches and Muslim revivalist organizations in urban Tanzania. He holds a Bachelor and Masters Degree in Sociology and Anthropology as well as a Bachelor of Laws and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
