Regional Forum: Religious Agency in the Response to COVID-19

During this year's GAM, PaRD invites local leaders from Religious and Faith communities, multilateral representatives, Academia and Governments from Southern Africa or Asia to join on the discussions on the topic of ""Religious Agency in the Response and Resources to COVID-19" on Thursday 11th November. The Southern Africa forum will take place on Thursday, 11 November at 10:00 – 11:30 am.

The round table discussion will have guest speakers WHO and Faith communities present their regional perspectives and then participants will dive in to discussing questions such as: What are the main impacts of COVID-19 in societies and communities? How did/is your religious community/organisation responding to these impacts? What is important for the post-COVID time?

These experiences will be brought together to help inform policy and advocate for involvement of Religious and Faith communities in COVID-19 response and forthcoming regional forum.

This forum is co-convened by the Research Programme on Religious Communities and Sustainable Development at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, World Vision and the Faculty of Theology at University of Pretoria, South Africa.
